What a contractor option means, and what it does not
We keep the connection narrow and describe it plainly. A contractor option is a possible next contact, not an approval, certification, price guarantee, or promise of workmanship.
These are the current matching criteria, not quality or credential endorsements.
1
The trade and repair type named in the homeowner request.
2
The property location and the contractor’s stated service area.
3
Whether a contractor option is available when the request is reviewed.
4
At most one contractor option per request; no auction or bulk distribution.
Checks we do not represent as complete
We do not currently promise independent verification of every contractor's active license, insurance, background, references, financial condition, permit eligibility, pricing, or workmanship. Availability and business information can change, so homeowners must verify these items directly before signing.
What to verify before hiring
Confirm the license is active for the required trade and property jurisdiction.
Ask for current general liability and workers’ compensation insurance where applicable.
Confirm who pulls the permit and who coordinates the utility or final inspection.
Compare the written scope, exclusions, payment schedule, warranties, and change-order terms.
Check recent references and never rely on our introduction as an endorsement.
Privacy and compensation
We do not auction a request or send it to a list of competing callers. A participating contractor may pay Insurance Repair Help when we make a connection. Homeowners do not pay us to submit a request.
A contractor option is included only where available. It does not guarantee a response, quote, permit, completed repair, or insurance outcome. Read our privacy policy and terms for the full limits.
